Chroma designed Atelier Interactive as a paint for artists which would be more responsive to the aesthetic aims and paint manipulation effects that they require.
Conventional acrylic paint has always dried very quickly, with no transition stage between wet and dry so that most painting is wet paint applied over dry.
Interactive however does not form a skin during the drying process so there is a 'window of opportunity' at the transition stage between wet and dry. Interactive dries in exactly the same way as conventional acrylics, but the paint thickens as it dries and you will notice a tightening effect as the brush comes into contact with the paint surface.
This is a signal to use a water sprayer to restore the moisture balance. As long as you continue to do this, the surface will stay workable. Water spraying intervals will vary according to air temperature and humidity.

Set contains 12 x 20ml Assorted Tubes
Colours :- Crimson,Trans.Orange, Arylamide Yellow Light, Arylamide Yellow Deep, Yellow Ochre, Burnt Sienna, French Ultra, Dioxazine Purple, Phthalo Green, Perm.Green Light, Carbon Black, Titanium White.

Lovely Artists Acrylics - very adaptable

Predominantly I am a watercolour painter but wanted to try a new medium.that offered bolder colours and was a little more forgiving. I picked Interactive as they were pigment based (so proper Artists grade) and give you more control over the drying time, which appealed a lot for those times you want to be able to control (or fix) whats happening. The colours in this set are a nice mix and the consistency is nice, quite moist but not thick - so brush or palette knife work fine. Not tried glazing with them. Some colours are more tranparent than I would like (eg the orange) but full 80ml tubes arent expensive at ArtDiscount - so I just ordered some new colours and large tubes of the ones that are running out. Another little thing, being used to W&N tubes I have to say its lovely to just open a tube whenever I want, rather than fight with stuck lids all the time
